About Western New York Soccer Association
History of WNYSA
Western New York Soccer Association (WNYSA) is one of the oldest soccer organizations in the United States being founded in 1913. WNYSA is one of the founding members of the United States Soccer Federation.
The territorial jurisdiction of the Western New York Soccer Association is its northern border with Canada. Its southern border is the New York and Pennsylvania state line. Its western border is Canada and the Pennsylvania state line. Its eastern border is route I-81, which includes all counties that include I-81 (Jefferson, Oswego, Onondaga, Cortland, and Broome counties).
Our Association is proud to have three of our members included into the United States Soccer Hall of Fame - Mr. Daniel (Dan)Fowler, Mrs. Margaret (Peg) Fowler, and Mr. ReinholdSpath.
The Italian-American Soccer Club of Rochester, NY would reach the final of the National Amateur Cup in 1963 and 1966. The would win the championship in 1963. won the United States National Amateur Cup when they defeated the St. Louis Ambrose. This club would become the nucleus for the NASL Rochester Lancers.
Our Association also is proud to have placed one of its own players, Brian Bliss, to earn caps with the US National Team. Bliss was a defender who played for the U.S. national team at the 1988 Olympics and the 1990 World Cup.

Referees can claim "game experience" as they work towards upgrade.
Accessibility into the National Cups Program (U.S. Open Cup, Amateur Cup, Under 23 Cup, Over 30 Amateur Cup, Women's Regional and National Cup), USASA National and Regional Cups, Veterans Cup).
WNYSA has three active Leagues comprising approximately 4,000 players.
